One of Nashville’s newest stars opened yesterday in the heart of vibrant downtown Nashville. The new 21c Museum Hotel Nashville opened their doors to welcome visitors to a completely different hotel experience. Steps away from the Broadway entertainment district and located on 2nd Avenue North between Church St. and Union St., this new property brings a colorful and cultural experience to the already effervescent Music City stage.
Kurtz Hospitality Marketing Client Spotlight
To describe 21c Museum Hotels as a brand would be inaccurate. Yes, the new Nashville property, the 7th in the collection, follows the group’s unique structure and mission: to make contemporary and worldly art readily available to its guests and public. All properties offer a chef-driven restaurant, great service, and cool and original amenities, (where else could you find a 4 ft. tall penguin waiting to take selfies in your room). But that is where the similarities between each property end. Each 21c Museum Hotel is as unique as the market in which they open. Often searching out historic buildings in the heart of an urban core, 21c works to help develop many urban environments and draw visitors to the area.
Then, of course, there is the art. Owners & visionaries Steve Wilson and Laura Lee Brown brought the brand to life 10 years ago on West Main Street in Louisville, Kentucky with the idea to create the world’s top art hotel. Offering free exhibitions to the public, the hotel sits on top of a curated 21st century art gallery that is open 24 hours a day. The mission of the property was an instant success and soon more hotels would emerge in markets like: Cincinnati, OH; Bentonville, AR; Durham, NC; Lexington, KY; and Oklahoma City, OK. Each property focusing on preservation in the market, curated rotating exhibits and commissioned site-specific art installations.
The unique highlights of the Nashville Property include:
- 124 guestrooms – including 14 luxurious suites.
- Rooftop suites and guestrooms with outdoor terraces and sweeping views of the Cumberland River and Nashville skyline.
- 10,500 square feet of event space and versatile exhibition space.
- A spa featuring couples treatment rooms and en-suite steam.
- Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner served in Gray & Dudley, overseen by Executive Chef Levon Wallace.
- An art-filled cocktail lounge in the Gray & Dudley Bar.
Kurtz Hospitality Marketing was thrilled to partner with 21c Museum Hotel on the opening of their Nashville property. With KHM’s intimate knowledge of the Nashville market and it being the largest market 21c has opened in, we were able to create a successful strategic sales plan, work with and advise the pre-opening team, give input on the annual budget based on market trends and expectations, work on pre-opening marketing collateral, and introduce the team to key local contacts. As 21c and other hotel groups grow and expand, KHM is excited to help them enter not only the Nashville market, but markets regionally and across the country.
